Rock Legend Jeff Beck Biography Jeff Beck is the very essence of the contemporary guitarist.
He has, time and time again, shown that he does what he wants despite what the
commercial world tries to impose on him. Jeff Beck was born in Wallingtom, Surrey, England on June 24, 1944.
He was a former choir boy, and by the age or 11, was also an accomplished
pianist and guitarist. In 1965, while an Art student, Beck joined the YardBirds, Britain's premier Blues band. Replacing Eric
Clapton Beck made the band into one of the most original rock bands of the
mid-sixties. The chemistry of the band changed in 1966, when Jimmy
Page was added, and Beck left while they were touring America. Beck started a solo career that would last over over 30 years.
He signed with Mickey Most on his RAK Label, where he cut several singles.
One of which Hi Ho Silver Lining, seemed to prove that his vocal skills
were lacking in comparison to his guitar work. So, in 1968, he formed the Jeff
Beck Group with Rod Stewart on vocals, Ronnie Wood on Bass, Nicky
Hopkins on piano, and Mickey |
